LOGDRMS is a resource to inform Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) stakeholders on DLMS data standards and implementation conventions (IC), which together with the DLMS business rules in DLM 4000.25, form a framework of interoperable business processes.

DLMS use standards from voluntary consensus standards organizations such as Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 for electronic data interchange. The DLMS ICs represent a combination of ASC X12 standards and implementation guidance specific to the DLMS. The copyright on the ASC X12 standards is held by ASC X12, Inc.

The Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) Program Office maintains the content in LOGDRMS based on data requirements identified during the DLMS change process.

As proposed DLMS changes (PDCs) are staffed, DLMS Program Office records the proposed additions and changes to DLMS data standards and DLMS ICs in LOGDRMS; this will be represented as a new version and the associated PDC number will be tagged in the DLMS Change # field in LOGDRMS.

When an approved DLMS change (ADC) is published, any adjustments to the proposed changes based on staffing comments, as shown in the ADC, are reflected in the LOGDRMS entries. The approved version will be tagged as “Production” in the DLMS Change # field to designate that the changes have been approved, and are available for implementation based upon the coordinated implementation schedule in the ADC.

The DLMS change process is explained as part of the DLMS Training eLearning Module 6, available at: www.dla.mil/HQ/InformationOperations/DLMS/eApplications/Training/

* The DLMS Program office is validating content as part of migrating data from the prior version of LOGDRMS. During the data cleansing process, additional DLMS data elements will be identified to ensure proper usage in the DLMS ICs. Any changes identified during the data cleansing process will be updated in LOGDRMS, and data cleansing changes will NOT go through the PDC/ADC process.
